We may already have crunk, OutKast and Three 6 Mafia, but Southern rap ain't seen nothin' yet. Appearing on the "Today" show Thursday morning (Jan. 12), country music queen Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah came together to promote their upcoming movie musical, "Joyful Noise," with some usually fresh sounds.
Watch: Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah Rap On "Today"
After anchor Ann Curry astutely noticed a creative "intersection" between the two stars, Parton and Latifah responded with an impromptu rap, featuring Latifah beatboxing a sinister beat over approximately 8 beastly bars of Parton's hyper-lyricism. Be sure to not to miss aggressive, confrontational and hard-hitting lines like "Oh, she's the Queen of her own hood / But I'm the Queen of Dollywood." (Although asserting superiority over your own DJ might not be the best idea for a rookie MC.)
"Joyful Noise," featuring Parton, Latifah and Keke Palmer, is out Friday (Jan. 13).
